Scranton Lady Lions Fall to the Bobcats
In a Sunday afternoon road matinee, the visiting Penn State Scranton Lady Lions basketball team lost their first contest after returning to the court after a long 29 day holiday/end of the fall semester lengthy break by a 65 point, 98-33, margin to non-conference foe the Bryant & Stratton-Cleveland Bobcats. With this tough defeat, Scranton is now on a mini three game losing streak and sees their overall record go to 1-8 and they remain 0-6 in their crucial league play schedule so far in their 2024-2025 hoops campaign.
The hometown Bobcats from Bryant & Stratton raced out to a big lead and never looked back, as they outscored the Lions 24-12 in the first quarter, 37-8 in the second period, 21-5 in the third stanza, and 16-8 in the fourth and last frame, as they cruised to a commanding 65 point triumph when the game's final buzzer sounded.
Now rookie interim head coach Alyssa Alfano and her 1-8 Penn State Scranton Lady Lions basketball team will look to bounce back and snap their three game losing skid and capture their first conference victory of the season when they next host league rival Penn State Shenango this upcoming Friday night, with tip-off slated for a 6pm start time. Meanwhile, head coach Michael Coreno and his 5-10 Bryant & Stratton-Cleveland Bobcats women's hoops squad, who are 2-1 in conference play, will look to extend their winning streak to three straight games when they next go on the road to face off against Edinboro University this Wednesday night at 5:30pm.
