SHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – The Penn State Scranton men's soccer team continued its strong start in conference play with a convincing 7–1 victory over Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Lions to 2–0 in PSUAC competition, showcasing both offensive firepower and defensive organization on the road.
The Lions wasted little time asserting themselves, striking early to grab momentum. From there, Scranton controlled possession and dictated the tempo, forcing Schuylkill to chase the match. The first half set the tone, and after the break the Lions poured it on, converting chance after chance to put the contest out of reach.
Sophomore Jack Eisele once again provided an attacking spark, finding the back of the net and keeping Schuylkill's defense under constant pressure. Midfielder Brian Nguyen also made his mark, anchoring the defensive effort while scoring his first goal of the season to highlight a breakout two-way performance.
The back line and goalkeeper ensured Schuylkill never found rhythm, holding firm even after conceding a lone goal. Midfield play was particularly sharp, with the Lions seamlessly linking defense to attack and creating repeated scoring opportunities in transition.
With the victory, Penn State Scranton extends its early conference winning streak and continues to build momentum. The Lions will look to carry that energy into their next matchup against Penn State Lehigh Valley at home on Tuesday, September 16.
