New Look Lions - 2024 Penn State Scranton Men’s Soccer Preview

With 20 new players joining the six returning members of last year's men's soccer squad, the 2024 Penn State Scranton men's soccer team will have a new look and a fresh new outlook this fall.
Leading the Lions' charge will be senior striker and co-captain Raphael Carvahlo and sophomore wing back and co-captain Will Nagy along with junior striker Adrian Sokolowski and a trio of sophomores, center back Angel Magana, wing Zach Eynon and defensive center midfielder Nick Pallman.
Joining those veterans will be four talented transfers, Joseph Loran, a wing back from Washington state and Penn State Brandywine, Lawson Measic, a wing midi from Thomasville, PA and Penn State Fayette, Tomas de los Rios, a center back from Dalton, PA and Penn College of Technology and Andres Felipe Nino from Bartonsville, PA and Penn State Lehigh Valley.
Head Coach Bob Denney, now in his second year, is proud to announce a pride of skilled new Lions that will be prowling the pitch during their inaugural season including center midfielders Tommy Buker, (Ewing High School, Ewing, NJ), Jack Eisele, (Honesdale High School, Honesdale, PA) and Brian Nguyen, (Sharon High School, Scranton, PA, wing midis Aiden Turner, (Governor Mifflin Senior HS, Reading, PA), Amani Byirinboro, (Scranton HS, Scranton, PA), Cris Rosario, (Pocono Mountain West HS, Pocono Lake, PA), Nirajan Ghalay, (West Scranton HS, Scranton, PA and Piero Parravicini (Sewanhaka HS, Floral Park, NY), strikers Emran Ahmetbeg, (Scranton HS, Scranton, PA), Yanal Hasweh, (Grassfield HS, Chesapeake, VA) and Fabrice Gatsinzi (Pittston Area HS, Dupont, PA), center back Josh Fanelli (Mountain View HS, Carbondale, PA), wing back Hector Cabreja Rodriguez (Bethel HS, Hampton, VA) and last but not least goalkeepers Ryan Smith, (Pottsgrove HS, Pottstown, PA), Andrew Haser, (Dunmore HS, Dunmore, PA) and Aarav Jariwala (Fountain Head School, Surat, Gujarat).
Christian Pane, a former four-year starter and captain for the men's soccer program at Penn State Scranton, who graduated in 2023, will return for his second season as the Lead Assistant Coach.
Denney believes that this year's team has the talent, depth and focus to compete in the PSUAC this fall. "We have a full roster for the first time in a number of years with skill and depth at every position. Plus we have tremendous team spirit. I like our team a lot!"
The New Look Lions will make their home debut on Wednesday Sept. 11 against York College/CUNY
