Nicholas Demian was named as PSU Scranton’s Assistant Baseball Coach in March of 2022. He joined Collin Ferguson’s staff following two seasons of competing for PSU Scranton Baseball and receiving a degree from Penn State University Main Campus in May of 2019. He enters his third season with the program in 2023-2024. Coach Demian primarily works with team hitting and pitching as well as defensive work with infielders.

Demian was recruited as a preferred walk-on to Division 1 NJIT as a right-handed pitcher after a successful high school career as a four-year starter for Mid Valley High School. He was also a member of the Scranton Miners and Moosic Mets (now Baseball U PA) travel organizations where he primarily was used as a starting pitcher.

Demian decided to return home where he was a two-year starter for the PSU Scranton Baseball team as a first baseman and starting pitcher. After hanging up the cleats, he began taking interest in passing down his knowledge of the game by coaching both private workouts and a travel baseball team at The Sandlot Baseball Academy in Scranton, PA.

In May 2019, Demian earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from PSU University Park.
