Freshman starting forward Rachel Lewis is stepping up her game this week, earning PSU Scranton campus player of the week. This week Rachel was a top scorer for PSU Scranton tallying a total of 36 points in three games. Rachel's top performance of the week came on Saturday vs PSU DuBois where she posted 19 points, shooting 1-2 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 4-4 from the charity stripe. She also swiped 3 steals and dished out 2 assists.
Get to know Rachel Lewis:
Q: Where are you from? What awards did you earn in the past (high school or college)?
A: Moscow, PA. North Pocono High School. I earned high academic honors throughout high school. I also earned a spot as a 2nd team All-Star junior year in soccer.
Q: What is your favorite part of playing your sport?
A: Basketball is a very team oriented sport, which I like because if one person makes a mistake, the four other people on the court are there to pick them up.
Q: What is your pre-game ritual?
A: When I'm warming up, I need to make a 3-pointer from the five main spots on the court.
Q: Do you have any hopes, season outlooks or goals for your career or your team in general?
A: I would like to try to win the rest of our games this season!
Q: What do you like about playing at PSU Scranton?
A: I love the atmosphere at PSU Scranton and I like the fact that having a small campus allows everyone to form close relationships with each other.
Q: What is your favorite sport/team (professional or otherwise)?
A: The Golden State Warriors
