Dunmore, PA - The Penn State Scranton Lady Lions couldn't stave off Penn State York Monday night after two wins on the road last week against Penn State Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre. York, clincling the victory 3-0, are now 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the PSUAC while Scranton now sits tied in the conference 2-2 with a 2-4 overall record.
Scranton sophomore setter Alison Marshman had 7 assists and 2 digs, while senior Danielle Powell had 3 kills and 3 solo blocks. Freshman middle hitter Brianna Smith added 3 kills and a solo block in the attempt, but they couldn't prevent York's center-court attacks.
York pulled away with the 3-0 win, 25-11, 25-18 and 25-7 with junior Jessica Dunbar accounting for 7 kills and 4 service aces and freshman Whitney Smyth contributing 3 kills, 5 aces and 3 digs.
The Lady Lions travel to Penn State Lehigh Valley (2-5 overall / 1-4 PSUAC) this Thursday in hopes of sealing another victory on the road in the east.
