Former players set to return for Inaugural Women’s Basketball Alumni Game

Penn State Scranton Women's Basketball is hosting its Inaugural Alumni Game on Saturday, January 21 at 10:30 AM and will feature 15 former players, most of whom played for current Head Coach Tom McIntyre. A notable returning player for the navy team, Jess Segilia Fazzi, makes her return to the court as one of the most decorated players to come through the women's program, earning many accolades throughout her time in a Penn State Scranton uniform. She is a two-time PSUAC Player of the Year, 1,000-point scorer (reaching this milestone in just two and a half years). Jess was also selected as a two-time PSUAC All-Conference team member and a two-time USCAA All-American during her time at Scranton, also helping lead the 2012-2013 team to the 2013 PSUAC regular season Northern Division title. Also, returning to the court from the 2013 Northern Division championship team are Danielle Segilia, Kayla Cavanaugh, Kim Madensky and Mar Tsakonas.

Also, returning to the court are former player and Assistant Coach, Mallory Pencek Griggs. Mallory played at Penn State Scranton in the late 2000's before taking on the role as an assistant in the program in the 2009-2010 season. Mal is a former two-sport athlete at Penn State Scranton where she earned the John Egli Award, awarded to student-athletes for outstanding performances in athletics, academics and community service, before transferring to finish her degree at University Park. Recent grad, former two-sport athlete, Rachel Lewis rounds out the navy team. Rachel was a four-year starter for Scranton who earned the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award and PSUAC and USCAA academic accolades during her time at Penn State, along with helping the 2018-2019 team reach the playoffs for the first time since 2013.

The white team will feature some fresh faces from recent years, including four-year starter Sara Moss, who also earned four PSUAC Academic awards. Joining Sara is recent graduate and former four-sport athlete, Danielle Powell. Danielle, also a four-year member of the team was a vocal leader for Scranton during her career, earning the John Fritz Sportsmanship Award in basketball and volleyball. Also, returning to the court, rounding out the white team roster are Molly Burke, Briah Carling, Nicole Davitt, Jenna Pacella, Christen D'Eliseo and Mikaela Brutico.
