PSU Scranton Softball Senior Day

Dummore, PA -  Penn State Scranton's women's softball will celebrate its senior player today before game one of their double-header against Penn State New Kensington today at 3:00 pm.  

The team will celebrate their senior Danielle Powell, a four-sport athlete on campus in Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Softball and Women's Soccer. Danielle was recruited from East Stroudsburg North for Women's Basketball and excelled on the court earning the PSUAC John Fritz Sportsmanship Award, PSUAC Honorable Mention All-Conference and a PSUAC All-Academic team award. A true leader, Danielle serves as a captain of two teams and is always cheering on her fellow student-athletes.  

"She is one of the most energetic and upbeat student-athletes I know.  No matter the struggles or the score, Danielle is there to bring the heat and pump everyone up," said Assistant Athletic Director Sara Rinkunas. 

As a business major Danielle is completing her internship this semester and hopes to start her own business after graduation.  Danielle is engaged to Penn State Scranton alumn and men's basketball stand-out Arel Lamour, who currently serves as an assistant coach in the sport, she loves to stay active and involved, does play by play and PA announcing for the mens teams, is a member of PSU Scranton SAAC and is a naturally talented artist!
