On a beautifully, warm Tuesday afternoon in the Electric City, Penn State Scranton hosted their first regular season men's soccer game in almost two years, after not having a traditional season last year due to the pandemic. The campus fans cheered their squad on but in the end the Lions would fall 6-0 to a tough Bucks County Community College team, as they now fall to 0-2 to kick-off their 2021 campaign, after also dropping their season opening match 4-0 on the road at nearby Keystone College this past Sunday.

Bucks County Community College got off to a hot start and took a 4-0 advantage at the halftime break in the action. Joseph Roller got his club on the scoreboard first at the 8:10 mark in the first half on an unassisted goal. From there, Bucks County would score three straight goals in about a nine minute stretch, all coming from the talented foot of Jaden Haig who clinched a hat trick on goals at the 15:30 mark, 22:47 mark, and 24:35 mark respectively.

In the second half, Scranton's defense would hold their opponent to just two goals, as Bucks County scored at the 48:17 mark unassisted from Gabriel Meira and then one more time at the 79:26 spot in the action, unassisted from Vladyslav Bordia.

Scranton was led on offense by Kyle Davies, Michael Foder, and Christian Pane who accounted for their team's three shots on goal in the contest. The Lions were also led by their senior goal keeper Clayton Martin who played all 90 minutes on the day between the pipes and saved nine of the fifteen shots he faced.

Now head coach Joe Baltrusaitis and his Scranton squad will look to capture their first win on the young collegiate soccer season next week on Wednesday, September 15th at 4pm, when they kick-off their tough conference schedule in a home tilt against Penn State Lehigh Valley.
