Men's Soccer Hosts Team Meeting Tonight

DUNMORE, PA - Head Men's Soccer Coach Joe Baltrusaitis is hosting a team meeting tonight at 6:00 pm on the soccer field on the Scranton campus.  All returning players, incoming recruits and those interested in trying out for the team are welcome to attend.  If you are not vaccinated for COVID 19 please wear a mask to the meeting.

In his eighth season leading the Scranton Lions, Coach Balt looks forward to sharing the upcoming fall schedule and practice plan after a year away from competition.  If a student is interested in trying out for the team they must be registered full-time for the fall 2021 semester and present all pre-season physical forms via Front Rush.  To receive the link to these forms, please contact Head Coach Joe Balt or the Athletic department on campus.

With nine incoming recruits this season the Scranton Lions are poised to pick up where they left off in 2019, when they earned their first playoff berth in over a decade. Players to watch are returning captains senior Michael Foder and Deyniel Desarden and starting goal keeper Clay Martin.  Also returning to the pitch are defensive starters, juniors, Christain Pane and Matt Fischer and on the offensive side seniors Patrick Dougherty and Kyle Davies. With incoming talent to compliment the veteran staff, the Scranton Lions are set to kick off season on the road in a scrimmage against Clarks Summit University August 21.

If you would like to know about the Men's Soccer team or can't make it to the meeting, contact Head Coach Joe Balt at 570-909-7383 or e-mail him at jub153@psu.edu. You can also contact an Athletic Staff member by calling 570-963-2616 (please leave a message with a return phone number).
