Action Packed Home Stand

The Lions and Lady Lions have been showing the conference what they are made of all season including during a very strong performance at home. Between the two teams they have combined for a total of a 6 games home winning streak not letting anyone get in their way.

The home stand started with both teams facing off against PSU Schuylkill. The ladies took the court first and after a hard fought half they unfortunately fell short of their goal as they lost 76-63. The men would take the court next. They were challenged by the team from PSU Schuylkill but came out on top with an impressive win in overtime 97-88.

On Saturday the women would face a difficult opponent as undefeated PSU Fayette visited campus. Coming off of the loss to Schuylkill the women hit the court with determination and handed Fayette their first loss of the season, 70-61. The men would follow the women also with a hard task at hand as they too took on highly ranked PSU Fayette. The team from Fayette pushed the men who would not give in as they walked off the court with yet another win, 79-72.

Trying to move up in the standings the women needed another win Tuesday as they faced division rival PSU Hazleton. The game was shot for shot until the Lady Lions from Scranton would rally, putting the game away claiming the 71-62 win and the number one spot in their division. This win puts them in great position for a possible play-off berth. The men later took on PSU Hazleton Tuesday and it was anyones game as the clock wound down to the last 6 seconds at a tie.    Scranton would prevail in the end winning 75-72 maintaining their top spot in the division. The women are currently 9-5 overall, 6-4 in the conference and also first place in the north division of the PSUAC. The men are currently 14-6 overall, 9-3 in the conference and first place in the north division of the PSUAC.

BOTH TEAMS WILL FACE OFF AGAINST PSU MONT ALTO ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 26. THE WOMEN TIP OFF AT 1PM AND THE MEN AT 3PM. COME OUT AND SUPPORT YOUR LIONS AND LADY LIONS AS THEY FIGHT FOR PLAYOFF SPOTS THIS SEASON!!!!
