Olasewere and Powell step up on the road
This week’s female campus player of the week is senior guard, Danielle Powell. In a two game road trip Powell had 16 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and six steals for Scranton who went 1-1 on the weekend. On Saturday, Danielle padded the stat sheet with six points, eight boards, four assists and four steal in Scranton’s 54-38 win over New Kensington. When Scranton faced off against Shenango in game two of the road trip, Danielle added 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals for the Lady Lions.
Sophomore, forward Zyeir Olasewere provided a big spark off the bench for Scranton in a close, 74-69 loss on the road at Shenango on Sunday. In the game Olasewere came off the bench to put up a career and game-high 25 points, 11 boards and dished out three assists giving Scranton a much needed boost in a close game in game two of a back-to-back. Zyeir shot 9-15 from the floor including going 2-5 from deep and 5-6 from the charity stripe.
