GAME DAY PROCEDURES:

GAME DAY PROCEDURES:

  1. Varsity athletics competition days are NOT an evaluation and/or treatment day for athletes that are medically cleared to participate in sporting event.
  2. The host athletic trainer is responsible for both the home and visiting team’s needs.
  3. For MOST sports the host ATC will be available TWO HOURS prior to the start of competition.
  4. Student-athletes may NOT request tapings for game days. If you are not being taped for practice or receiving rehabilitation for an injury, then no taping will be performed for games.
  5. Student athletes need to be compliant for treatments. If you are traveling to an away game, you are to follow the same game day procedures as a home game. The athletic training staff will be in contact via email 24 hours before competition with the Host ATC and will communicate the student-athlete’s needs for pregame such as tapings.

RELEASE OF MEDICAL INFORMATION:

Due to many student athletes being over 18 years of age, we follow all HIPAA rules and regulations when dealing with release of medical documentation and/or records. If a student-athlete chooses to share their medical information they may ask a member of the athletic training staff for a HIPAA medical release form, in which they may list individuals they choose to share their medical records. This release will be in effect for four years, unless the student-athlete requests to stop in release
