Skates, Giak finish top ten at Alfred State

The men's and women's XC teams traveled to the Finger Lake Region of upstate New York this past weekend to take part in the Alfred State Invitational. Junior Stacy Skates led the way for our Lady Lions, finishing 8th overall, covering the challenging 4k course in 19:57. Sophomore Kim Gaik finished 10th overall, a mere 26 seconds behind. Rounding our our top five were freshmen Grace Cosgrove (18th), Summer Naughton (22nd), and Sophomore Marissa Rinaldi (24th). Solid performances were also turned in by Angie Altier, Jessie Brudnicki, Lexi Scott, Elizabeth Edgar, Aubrey Edstrom, and Erica Sidorwicz. Our Ladies finished 4th of 4 teams overall, falling to Alfred University, Alfred State College, and Elmira.
For the second week in a row, sophomore John Ciccone brought home the hardware (on in this case a Alfred State hoodie), finishing 4th overall. John covered the very challenging 6k in a time of 18:09. Freshman Jeffrey Jordan was second for our Nittany Lions finishing 20th overall, junior Joshua Murphy, freshman Mark Tetonis, sophomore Paul McLaughlin, senior Mike Dorio and freshman Joe Belfanti founded out our top 7 this week. Overall, our men finished 3rd behind Alfred State, Alfred University and ahead of Mercyhurst .

Both teams travel to Penn State Greater Allegheny this coming weekend for their PSUAC conference opener.
