Women's soccer falls short on the road in season opener

LANCASTER, PA – Penn State Scranton's Women's Soccer team hit the road on Saturday, August 31, 2019 to kick off the season against Lancaster Bible College. The Chargers jumped out to a quick start, going up 3-0 in the first half but freshman striker, Rachel Butler cut the deficit to two goals, scoring her first collegiate goal of her Penn State Scranton career early in the second half. Despite the efforts in goal by sophomore keeper, Trinity Gammaitoni, recording 28 saves on 33 shots on goal, Scranton fell short 5-1, falling to 0-1 on the season.
