Mont Alto squeaks by Scranton, 91-84, in mid-week nail biter

DUNMORE, PA – On Tuesday, following the women’s win Scranton’s men took the court to try for the sweep of Mont Alto. Scranton jumped out to a hot start against the undefeated visitors building an 11-point lead in the first half until Mont Alto began firing back to eventually take a 44-39 lead into intermission. At the half, sophomore guard, Rob McAndrew led the Lions with 12 points and four rebounds and junior guard, Arel Lamour added 10 points and three rebounds.

The second half was back and forth as each team pushed the ball up the floor exchanging baskets and the lead. Despite their best efforts, Scranton could not get over the hump as Mont Alto took the narrow seven-point win over the Lions. For the third consecutive game McAndrew led all scorers with a double-double of 26 points and 10 boards. Arel Lamour added 22 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Junior guard, Matt Dessoye contributed 16 points and seven assists and sophomore guard, Cameron Jordan rounded out the effort with 10 points, three steals and two assists for Scranton.
