Scranton dropped game one of the season to visiting York, 72-55. The contest was close throughout as both teams tried to edge the other out for the win. Leading all scorers for the game from York, junior guard, Janelle Kress had 23 points, nine assists, five rebounds and four steals and junior guard, Danielle Jackson added 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals for the night.

For Scranton junior guard, Alyssa Cuono contributed 15 points and seven rebounds and freshman guard, Eayoni Thompson added a career-high 14 points and three rebounds.

Despite winning the rebound battle 65-44 Scranton shuttered beyond the arc making just one three-pointer compared to York's 12. During the first contest York moved the ball well accumulating 19 assists over Scranton who only dished out eight on the night. Both teams displayed quick hands throughout the game with York narrowly edging out Scranton 10 to six, however Scranton proved tough inside complying four blocks in the loss.
