Not enough for a comeback in first conference game on the road

Schuylkill Haven, PA - The Penn State Scranton Nittany Lions dropped their first conference game of the season last night on the road against Penn State Schuylkill, 98-88.

After going into the locker room down by 13 points, junior Arel Lamour and sophomore Cameron Jordan chipped away at the deficit by accounting for over 60% of Scranton's points. Lamour racked up 26 points while Jordan, hot from the arc shooting 7-9, added 29 points for the visiting Lions.  Schuylkill extended the lead by 22 points in the start of the second half and although Scranton reduced the lead to only 7 points in the last minutes of the game, it wasn't enough to stave off Schuylkill on their home court.

Tariq Meredith led for the home team, scoring 21 points and going 9-13 in the game.  Rob McAndrew brought down 9 boards and Matt Dessoye facilitated 6 assists in the east division conference match-up.

The Scranton Lions travel to western PA this weekend as they face PSUAC opponents Penn State Beaver on Friday, November 22 and Penn State Fayette on Saturday, November 23.
