IM Flag Football Rules
- All students must be enrolled for 1 or more credits. Staff/Faculty may participate. 7 players on field.
- Games will start at 12:15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. First half ends at 12:25 and second half will start at 12:30 and end at 12:55.
- Team/s will forfeit if they do not have 7 players on the field by 12:10 pm 15 min. halves.
- Clock: Running except for timeouts,
injuries and scores. Clock will also stop when ball is out of
play.
Clock stops last minute of 1st and 2nd half like regular football; incomplete pass, out of bounds, etc. - Mercy Rule – If one team is ahead 28 pts. or more the clock will not stop at all
- Timeouts: One per half. First half timeout cannot be carried over into second half.
- Equipment:
A. furnished by Athletic Department
B. Shirts: Must be tucked in with flags hanging outside. No cutoff jerseys.
C. Shoes: Rubber or soft plastic cleats only. - Penalties :10 yards holding, etc., line of scrimmage; illegal motion
- Pass Interference:
A. Offensive: 10 yards
B. Defensive: 10 yards from line of scrimmage
10. Interception: Once ball is intercepted, no blocking.
11. Punts: Defense cannot rush and offense must announce their attention to punt.
Kicking team must hold their positions until ball is fielded and no blocking.
12. There will be NO blocking on punts and kickoffs. No blocking below the waist.
13. Unsportsmanlike conduct will result in automatic ejection and possible suspension from
all IM activities for the remainder of the school year.
14. Can go for 1 pt. run or pass.
15. Automatic ejection for fighting and one game suspension.
16. 1st down at 50 yard line.
17. Overtime- time permitting- each team gets 2 downs from the 2 point line to score.
18. Cannot slap/push opponents hand away from flag! 10 yard penalty
19. No 3 point stance
20. Can take center snap off center’s butt.

Center not eligible as running back.
