100 Mile Club

Who:

The 100 Mile Club is a remote learning Intramural Sport! The entire PSU Scranton Campus Community including faculty, staff and students can get involved!

What:

The 100 Mile Club is for those who would like to join us in setting a goal to run or walk 100 Miles to keep active while practicing social distancing! 

When:

Please register by emailing Sara at slr5003@psu.edu - you can join at any time! 

Beginning Monday, March 30, 2020 runners/walkers are welcome to track and submit their mileage - there will be optional weekly check-ins for prizes and awards! 

Where:

Participants are welcome to walk/run anywhere they can track their mileage ( while using the rules of social distancing that are in effect by the govenor).This is a trust based record keeping system with the opportunity to challenge yourself and keep active during the COVID-19 crisis. 

 

How:

Forms of tracking mileage: 

  • Smart phone apps ( MapMyRun, Nike Run Club, or your choice of step counting/mile logging application)
  • Pedometers
  • Trails with marked mileage  (www.traillink.com 
  • By hand via log sheet
  • Treadmills or Elliptacles with miles

Motivators:

Watch your email for weekly check in reports! If you are one of our week mileage leaders you will receieve a prize to help motivate you and other competitors to keep going! Stay motivated by joining our online community on social media by following us on Instagram where will post stories and updates from our walkers and runners! 

Set your goal and use this as an opportunity to meet it while sharing your success with the campus community! Remember to practice social distancing!
