Volleyball impressive early on earning first conference win

Penn State Scranton Women's Volleyball team earned their first PSUAC win in their opening home match up against Penn State Hazleton.

The Hazleton Lady Lions made noise early on as they followed through on attacks after intense vollies. Penn State Worthington Scranton answered back setting off a back and forth point-for-point on both sides of the net.  Scranton edged in the first, 25-23.

Scranton was down 14-7 in the second set when Emily Tavaris (freshman-prenursing) caught fire, scoring eight straight on her serve.  Scranton pulled ahead winning 25-18. In the final set reeling from the wins Scranton finished the match up 25-14, winning 3-0 and sealing their first conference victory.

The Lady Lions will play four more conference games this weekend, Saturday at Wilkes Barre's quad match against Penn State Schuylkill and Brandywine and Penn State York and Mont Alto during a quad match at home Sunday at 12 pm.
