Scranton Women Open Season with Road Win

Schnecksville, PA - The Penn State Scranton Lady Lions started the season off on a high note with an impressive road win at Lehigh Carbon Community College, 60-49. Scranton held an advantage throughout most of the game outscoring the Cougars in three of four quarters of the game ultimately pulling away in the final period to secure their first win of the young season. The Lady Lions put up a balanced offensive attack led by first-year guards, Lexi Iveson and Lexi Corby each scoring 14 and 12 points for Scranton. Fourth-year transfer, Alahnna Balbach added 10 points, while first-year Jay Contorno contributed nine points and second-year returning starter, Megan Gatto added eight points respectively in the win.
