Hicks heats up home court to end 2016 conference play

Freshman starting guard Monique Hicks hit a career high 25 points and 10 rebounds in tonight's last game of 2016 for the Penn State Scranton Women's Basketball team.

Hicks, a North Pocono graduate, was 60% from the field and went to the locker room with 14 of Penn State Scranton's 28 points at the half against Penn State Brandywine. Hicks, alongside junior point guard Molly Burke, fought to keep PSU Scranton in the game with the lead changing 8 times before the final horn. Burke, who had 15 points and 7 rebounds in the match up was 100% from the free throw line and earned 3 steals.

Nikki Velez earned 21 points for PSU Brandywine and Brandi James and Kendra Standford added 12 and 11, respectively.  Penn State Brandywine earned their 2nd PSUAC victory on the road this week after falling at home to Penn State Lehigh Valley last week.  Brandywine is now 2-1 and Scranton 0-3 as they enter winter break.  Both teams will not see conference play for another month as the 2017 season picks back up with Scranton facing Penn State Beaver at home on January 13.
