Softball to start 2019 on the road to Virginia

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Penn State Scranton Lady Lions are hitting the road this weekend to start off their 2019 season as they head to Virginia to take on fellow USCAA member school, Stratford Univerty Cardinals. Stratford has gotten off to a good start in 2019 posting a 4-2 record going into the 4-game weekend series. The Cardinals are currently riding a 3 game-winning streak following a split with Penn State Beaver and two victories over Washington Adventist on Saturday and Monday of this week. The Lady Lions look to kick start their season against an impressive Stratford squad.

Coach Mar Tsakonas is entering her first year as the head coach of the Lady Lions after spending the previous five seasons as assistant coach for the program. She is looking to lead her young team comprised of mostly freshmen to a successful season this year in hopes of making a return to the PSUAC playoffs after a two year hiatus from the postseason.
