Unseasonable weather leads to late start

The 2016 Penn State Scranton baseball and softball seasons hasn't had the start anyone hoped for after a mild winter and the addition of a brand new, state of the art facilities. Coming off of an impressive season resulting in a playoff berth, years in the making, the 2016 Penn State Scranton softball team looked to pick up right where they left in 2015. Having finished with the highest conference ranking in the history of the program the Lady Lions are left patiently waiting on Mother Nature to let their season officially begin. This season the Lady Lions have had five cancellations out of seven total double headers to start off their year. The most recent cancellations include this past weekend, where an untimely snow storm rolled through the Pittsburgh area covering any hopes of play in snow. The Penn State Scranton baseball team has also suffered from the inconsistent weather patterns that have resulted in the cancellation of two of their double headers. This week the forecasts calls for more spring like weather and both teams hope to hit the road on Tuesday, April 12 to take on Penn State Mont Alto at 2 PM and 4 PM, tipping off a very busy final three weeks of the regular season for both the Lions and the Lady Lions.
