SOFTBALL TEAM ENTERS POST SEASON PLAY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER A DECADE

Dunmore, PA, April 27, 2015– For the first time in 11 years Penn State Worthington Scranton's Women's Softball team will enter post season play Wednesday at the PSUAC (Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference) playoffs in Boalsburg, PA. 

At 1 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 the 5^th seed Lady Lions from Scranton (8-8) will take on 4^th seed PSU Mont Alto (10-6) at Oak Hall Field, 120 Linden Hall Rd. Boalsburg, PA during the 1^st round of PSUAC playoffs. The young team, under the direction of Head Coach John Foy and Assistant Coach Mar Tsakonas, includes five freshman, three sophomores and one junior.  This will be the team's first playoff appearance since 2004, and the first under Coach Foy.  

With six PSUAC teams in championship contention, if the Lady Lions earn a 1^st round win they will enter round 2 of the playoffs on Wednesday afternoon to determine semi-final standings.

"It is a well-deserved accomplishment for our Lady Lions and coaches to make the playoffs for the first time since 2004.  Their dedication and hard work has paid off and we are very proud of them," commented Jeff Mallas, Penn State Worthington Scranton Athletic Director.
