Soccer falls to undefeated Hazleton

With both Penn State Scranton and Hazleton at a 2-0 conference record Thursday afternoon they went head to head on Penn State Scrantons home turf.
It was a fight for the first goal when junior forward Kyle Venditti scored off of an assist from sophomore forward Ben Pasukinis at 15 minutes. It was a goal that set fire to the Hazleton offense, particularly Vendetti and Pasukinis. It was only ten minutes later Venditti sent one to Pasukinis for a 2-0 lead. Venditti hit again before the half sealing a 3-0 lead for PSU Hazleton.
Scranton stepped up their defense in the second half, staving off Hazletons hot  offense for 20 minutes until James Cole (junior-business) found an opening and put the home team on the board. Venditti answered back, earning a hat trick and Pasukinis netted his second to finish the game at 5-1 in favor of Penn State Hazleton who know sits at 3-0 in the PSUAC.
The team will take a break as they prepare for a trip west next Sunday, September 26 taking on Penn State Beaver.
