Senior Shines in Hard-fought Loss

The Lions took to the field at home for their second home conference match-up of the year against Penn State Hazleton. It was a close contest as each team exchanged the lead. Senior Forward, Justin Kurek, started the scoring off for Scranton with his first goal in the 32nd minute to tie the game at 1-1. The goal was assisted by fellow Senior Defense man, Mike Blasi. At the half the Lions from Penn State Hazleton had a slim lead on Penn State Scranton 2-1. As the second half began the Senior Forward, Kurek, picked up where he left off tying the game yet again in the 48th minute making the score 2-2 to shift the momentum in favor of Penn State Scranton. After a goal from Penn State Hazleton shifted the lead back to them Freshman Forward, Joe Evans scored another game tying goal in the 69th minute off of an assist by Junior Defense man, Akhmet Ashimov making the score 3-3 with just 21 minutes left in the game. The Lions of Penn State Scranton held off the team from Hazleton for most of the remainder of the game until a final corner kick would seal the win for the visiting team.
