Foder motors Scranton off the bench

DUNMORE, PA- On Monday night, Penn State Scranton hosted fellow USCAA member school, Central Maine Community College, in a non-conference contest. The beginning of the game was heated as Central Maine took an early lead but sophomore guard, Mike Foder came off the bench early in the first half providing a much needed boost, going 5-5 from the floor with 11 points in the period. Scranton trailed at the half, 62-46.

Following the brief half-time intermission, the Lions picked up the intensity in the second half ultimately tying the game at 107-107, on a clutch lay-up by Foder with just 31 seconds left on the game clock. The Mustangs answered with a shot of their own as Elijah Barbour buried a three-pointer to put Central Maine up 110-107. Scranton was not done there as freshman guard, London Jeter hit a three of his own to knot up the game at 110-110. Unfortunately, a late foul called with 0.06 seconds remaining in the game sent Central Maine's Josh Chery to the line for a chance to seal the win on the road. He would convert both free throws as Scranton missed a hail mary shot from just beyond half court as they fell, 112-110. Mike Foder led all scorers with a career high 31 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the Lions. Sophomore guard, Arel Lamour added 23 points, 7 assists and 6 steals. Freshmen London Jeter and Kyle Streich both contributed 19 and 18 points respectively for Scranton.

Josh Chery led Central Maine with 27 points and 11 boards and Corey David and Elijah Barbour both added 26 points each for the visitors.

The Scranton Lions face conference team, Penn State York tonight on the road, tip-off at 8:00 pm.
