Lions drop heartbreaker to Hazleton, 88-85

Penn State Scranton's Men's Basketball team looked to follow suit with the women's team as they took the floor against Penn State Hazleton. The first half, featured fast-paced back and forth play from both sides, with six lead changes and three ties. Hazleton went into the half leading the Lions by five, 38-33. In the second period both teams vied for an edge as they exchanged the lead seven more times and tying eight times throughout the half. Down by three with time waning, freshman, guard London Jeter hit a game tying three-point shot to knot the game at 85-85. With the game on the line and tied, Hazleton sophomore, guard Aaron Kellmer hit a corner three-pointer leaving 1.7 seconds remaining on the game clock to clinch the game for the visitors, 88-85. Sophomore, guard Arel Lamour led all scorers with a double-double, 27 points and 11 rebounds. London Jeter added a career high 23 points and 2 blocks and junior, forward Tom Gonzales finished with 16 points, 2 blocks and 2 steals for Scranton. Penn State Hazleton was led by sophomore, forward Brandon Mohammed with 21 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double and junior, guard Andy Kwaitkowski added 18 points respectively.
