Dixon Finds Rhythym in New Year

The end of 2015 slowed down for Penn State Worthington Scranton's Men's Basketball senior forward, Hasiin Dixon.  Dixon, who came off the 2014-15 season averaging 23.8 points per game and hitting his 1000th career point, faced PSUAC teams who were prepared for the All-American and All-Conference standout.  In the last three conference games of 2015 the men went 1-2 and Dixon was kept at bay scoring only 26 percent of his shots from the field, unlike his usual 60 percent field goal percentage from the start of the season.

That all changed this past weekend as Dixon dropped 58 points and grabbed 28 rebounds on the road in the team's first games of 2016. Dixons field goal percentage elevated to 50 and he shot 85 percent from the free throw line. Dixon was vital in Fridays 72-69 nail-biter win over Penn State Lehigh Valley where Dixon dropped 29 points and sealed the victory with two made free throws with 11 seconds left in the game.

On Saturday the men faced PSUAC leaders Penn State Mont Alto who sat at 6-0 in the conference before tip-off. Dixon and teammate Kyle Kelly carried the PSU Scranton Nittany Lions scoring 70 percent of the teams points and helped the team close the gap to 5 points against the top Mont Alto at one point before the half. Despite falling by 21 points to the PSUAC leader, Dixon ended with a double-double 29 points and 10 rebounds to set the tone for the new year of Penn State Worthington Scranton Men's Basketball.
