Dixon Brings Down Mighty Oaks

On Saturday, the Penn State Scranton Lions hit the road for a match up against the Mighty Oaks of SUNY ESF in Syracuse, NY. The Lions got off to a fast start early taking a 13-4 lead over the Mighty Oaks. Using an effective three-quarter court press, Penn State Scranton increased their lead by forcing turnovers, and went into the half up, 43-32 over SUNY ESF. In the second half SUNY ESF came out firing cutting the lead to seven but Penn State Scranton stayed steady never surrendering the lead. The Mighty Oaks would get within three on a couple late shots and clutch free throws but the Lions would increase their lead back up to nine and pull out the win, 85-76. The Lions were led by senior Hasiin Dixon with a double-double, 31 points and 13 rebounds and freshman Rocco Cordaro with a career high, 18 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Penn State Scranton will conclude their road trip on Monday, November 23, when they travel to take on SUNY Delhi with the tip at 7 PM.
