PSU Scranton Golf posts impressive scores, finishes fourth overall in first tournament

STATE COLLEGE, PA – On Thursday, September 5, Penn State Scranton's golf team headed west to University Park's White Course to tee off the 2019 season. In the first tournament of the year Scranton brought five fresh faces to take on the tough PSUAC competition. Through a day that saw the lowest score totaling a 68 from Penn State Lehigh Valley, Scranton's top two players, freshman, Thomas Gaudette and sophomore, Andrew Faist, posted impressive scores of 79, good enough for a three-way tie for an individual 10th place finish out of 74 participants on the day. Overall, Scranton walked away with an impressive fourth place team finish out of the 11 PSUAC teams represented at the tournament. Rounding out Scranton's scoring for the day, senior, Conner Albino shot an 82, sophomore, Shane Welcome shot an 84 and senior, Casey Holman finished with an 88.

The golf team travels to Penn State Schuylkill on Wednesday, September 11 for a 1:00 PM tee time.
