Matt Murray

Matt Murray, PSU Scranton's sophomore Male Cross Country captain, is making room for another medal after clocking in at 30:32 at Norlo Park this weekend, finishing first in the PSUAC Championship race hosted by PSU Mont Alto.  Murray, aptly nicknamed "Matt Blurry" on the Scranton campus, is known to speed past his opponents late in the race, pacing himself for a strong finish. This season alone Murray has 1st place medals from the Scranton Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and Scranton's home Nittany Lion Invitational on September 30, while placing in the top five in the remainder of his teams scheduled races this season.

Murray is a humble person according to his fellow student-athletes. "Matt is a great kid, always polite and always very humble. I know he puts in a lot of hard work in the off season and has the talent to do great things," commented student-athlete Bryan Gallagher. Murray keeps his goals in the forefront of his mind during each race and no doubt will be thinking about his next goal to hit as November's USCAA Cross Country Championships approach.  For a full breakdown of the Cross Country team's PSUAC championship race visit www.psuscrantonathletics.com.
